Valpo Man Cleared of Sexual Misconduct

Feb 25, 2015

Attorney Patton said he is "pleased the defendant can move forward with his life."

Facing 2 to 8 years in prison and the requirement to register as a sex offender, Attorney Patton obtained a  NOT GUILTY  verdict for his client.
The defendant was cleared of the felony count of sexual misconduct with a minor just hours after jurors heard testimony that  the purported victim had joked about the accusation said sarcastically she made it all up.
Not all cases are cut and dry. It is difficult to have all evidence heard at trial, especially when the admission comes from someone other than the accuser. Patton and his client were very pleased with the result of the case.
